Community guidelines
Foray Tabletop only works if meeting a stranger for a game is a good idea. These are the rules that keep it that way, they are part of our terms, and we enforce them.
Treat people like opponents, not targets
No harassment, threats, abuse or pile-ons. No hate directed at anyone for who they are.
A game is competitive; a person is not a thing to beat. Gloating, needling and pestering someone who has stopped replying all count.
If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop. Blocking exists, it is silent, and using another account to get around it is a serious breach.
Be who you say you are
One account, your own photo, a real description of the games you play and how well you play them.
Report results honestly. A false result is not a small thing: it sits on someone else's record.
Turn up, or cancel early enough for the other person to do something else with their evening. Repeated no-shows are visible and lead to suspension.
Trade in the open
Meet in a public place, preferably a shop with tables. Look at what you are buying before any money changes hands.
Never pay before you meet. Anyone who insists on a transfer first is trying to take your money, and telling us about it protects the next person.
Describe what you are selling accurately, including condition and anything wrong with it. Use your own photos of the actual item.
No counterfeits, no stolen goods, nothing you cannot legally sell where you live.
Meeting people
Tell someone where you are going. Meet in daylight or in a shop. Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong.
Do not share your home address, your workplace or your documents with someone you have just met on the internet.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local police first, then tell us.
Adults only
Foray Tabletop is for people aged 18 and over, because games and trades happen in person.
Anything sexual involving a minor, or any attempt to reach a minor through this service, is reported to the authorities and the account is removed permanently. Our child safety standards set that out in full, and the report option in the app has a child safety reason that jumps the queue.
What happens when someone breaks these
Reports go to our moderators, never to the person reported, and you can block someone at the same time.
Depending on what happened, we warn, remove the content, suspend the account for a period, or remove it permanently. Anything involving a child is handled first and is not warned about.
A suspended account can still reach support from inside the app, which is where to appeal if we have got it wrong.
Every action a moderator takes is recorded against their name, so a decision can always be looked at again.
